Visit To The E.R.

We just got back from a night at the Emergency Room.  Ed delivered a bouncing baby stone.  He was in so much pain that I thought he was going to go crazy!  It all started at around 12:30 when he woke up with a stomach ache.  Then it progressively got worse, so at around 1:00am I told him I thought it was either a kidney stone or his appendix.  I had him call Mom and Dad (sorry Mom!) to know the symptoms of kidney stones since my dad is an expert at this point!  Poor Dad.  Dad said it's a stone and get to the E.R. cause the pain is only going to get worse before it gets better.  He was right!  By the time we got to the Hospital, by the way dodging a dog who I know saw his life flash before his eyes when he saw a mad white woman in a mini van flying and swerving to miss him and ten zillion deer that scared the life out of me, Ed was not even able to get out of the car.  They had to wheel him in.  After the cat scan was done and two pains meds administered, he was told he had a kidney stone that passed into the bladder while we were there.  Oh whatta a night he wants to NEVER remember!

The Stone.  Notice the corner of our quart size ziploc bag.  It's amazing how something so tiny can cause so much misery and pain!
