Staying Home

We did a whole lot of nothing this week.  I've had some kind of virus or acid reflux or something that causes my throat to swell.  Not a great feeling. Bleh.  Oh, see the knobs on the entertainment center? While we were in Jackson Tuesday we just HAD to stop at their ginormous Hobby Lobby.  All their knobs and drawer pulls were 50% off. Sooo, I really needed to complete the look of our "new" e.t. center by adding some new cute knobs. New you ask? Well, our Wal-Mart bought e.t. center was starting to peel thanks to a little person in our home who likes to peel the paper, or whatever you call it,  off of it while watching TV up close and personal.  Hmm, I'm thinking we need to get a bigger TV. Looks like he is having a hard time watching such a small television.  :)

We were in Jackson Tuesday because of this..

Saturday I thought his tooth had cracked where his expander was attached.  Turns out it was glue that holds it in place.  The glue had cracked and later on that day after this picture was taken and sent to the orthodontist the expander broke off on that side so we did an emergency trip (an hour and twenty minutes with a metal device dangling in the mouth!) to have it removed. They had us come back Monday and then Tuesday to have the new one put in.  It is all good and secure now so here is hoping it won't fall out again!
Um, how cute and funny is this picture?! I HAD to have it.  I found the free printable on The Graphics Fairy.  If you want it too, HERE is the link.  The picture frame is from GoodWill.  I'm thinking of painting it a dark brown or white.  Not sure yet, so leaving it as is for now.

A few weeks ago we did a little makeover with our kitchen.  I wish I had before pictures because this is a HUGE difference.  I'll look through some old photos and see if I can find some. The backsplash is can you guess?? Wall paper! I got it at Lowes and I swear it looks so real.  We also took a few doors off for an open cottagey look.  The bottom cabinets were painted in Grand Tetons at Wal-Mart. It was actually an afterthought because I had it as leftovers from painting our front door with it.  I tried it on one of the doors. Sure enough it looks great!  We still have to finish the cabinets under the sink.  I'm thinking of putting a sink skirt there.  I love sink skirts! We shall see.

A few weeks ago we went to a junk store and found this gem of a cedar chest for 60 bucks.  The outside was HORRIBLE but the inside is immaculate.  I went to work on the outside using Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams and Polycrylic to seal it up since we will obviously be abusing it.  I don't want any furniture in the house that I have to stress out about if someone puts their foot on it or spills something, etc.  So not worth the hassle.

We are planning to put the board games and maybe a couple of throws tossed in there too.
