Family Home Evening went well last night. We taught a lesson about Agency and Choosing the Right.
I have been teaching the CTR A class lately and so I just use the lesson that I teach on Sunday as our F.H.E. lesson. Why come up with another whole lesson?! Easy Peasy. When I have Sharing Time for the month, I use what I did with Sharing Time for Monday night. I'm a lazy bum! Haha!
We then played a game where you are given a situation that would either make you happy or sad because of your choice and then the consequence. Everyone slaps the card that they think would be the feeling they would get after each situation is read to them. We thought it was pretty fun.
For our treat, we made chocolate dipped rice crispies. I got this idea from Mels Kitchen Cafe. It was so easy and since we had a day full of homeschool preschool it fit the bill. The heart symbolizes that we should choose to love one another and be kind. To give our heart to Christ and try to live and be like Him.
To make these just mix up a batch of Rice Krispie treats and then spread in a 11x17 buttered pan so that way they won't be overly thick (thinking calories here :) and you get to eat more than one if you want. After they have set up, cut them out with little heart shape cookie cutters. Then melt some Semi-Sweet chocolate chips with about a teaspoon of shortening. Dip half the heart in the chocolate and lay on wax paper lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with whatever you want. I put them in the freezer to get the chocolate to set completely and then removed them and let them set out until they were back to room temperature.
Love this! How's homeschool going? JA is lucky to have such a fun teacher!
