Well the big black rectangle will stay....well...black. For one month that is. We had a family council and decided to turn the TV off for one month. Unplugged. This also includes video games and computer games or computer movies. The latter is really easy for us. We both do not play any computer games and we can't watch movies on our computer, its too old and slow. Ed hasn't played video games in months so there's not a real problem there either. We started this May 1st. It was really hard over the weekend since we had a lot of rain and not a lot of outside time but we managed. We didn't ask our extended family to participate so it was real nice to have their TV on when all the tornado and flash flood warnings were coming our way!
we've been w/o tv now for about 7 years and don't ever plan on going back!

also, thanks for the storage tips! i got some flat bins to put under beds and also some of those sterilite plastic drawers. hopefully, they'll solve my problem for a little while!
AND- i also look at the b'ground of your pics.. your house is so pretty! you're really good at decorating!
