My baby's daddy is getting the DVD player ready. The best investment we made for long trips! We bought this 3 or 4 years ago and have made good use of it!

John Arlie excited to go to the eye doctor.  We pretty much promised him the world if he would let the doctor look at his eyes. You don't EVEN want to know how our last trip went.

We pretty much have the roads memorized at this point. Can you find what is really strange about this picture?  Isn't that the weirdest?!?!  FYI: We didn't have one in the car so how in the world could there be a reflection?

YAY!  We are half way there.

Pretty much bored beyond belief.  I forgot to bring his toys and books to look at and play with.  Not a smart move but we did have Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that lasted him for about 25 minutes.

Lunch time!  Finally has a toy to play with!  Can you tell how thrilled he is to keep getting his picture taken?! Or does he feel a little ripped off from the happy meal?  He got some cute little pigs from the new movie shrek.  Since I got a happy meal too he had 2 sets of pigs to entertain himself for the next hour. I pretty much can't stand McD food (except their ice cream cones!) so I always get a happy meal so I can endure the pain and agony of pretty much tasteless food that makes you hungry again in less than two hours.

We are here!!!  YAY! By the way HE DID GREAT!  Promising the world really does work!

The doctor he goes to is Natalie Kerr.  She is one of the most prestigious pediatric opthamologists in the country.  We are very blessed to have her just a little less than 3 hours away and to have our insurance cover most of it. He did so good he got 2 suckers from them! And that is truly saying something.

Target trip involves spending WAY too much money and eating things like popcorn and pretzels for dinner. In a way it is a good thing we don't have a target close by.  We would be in trouble!  We always buy more for John Arlie than ourselves.  We left the store with 5 outfits for him and toy cars, a pair of shoes for Ed and a shirt for me. Hey I did look for bargains so that makes it a little better right?  Two of those outfits we bought were marked down to 2.00!  Ed is the big bargain hunter.  He is the one that found them. Dang he's good!

TEN TIMES BETTER than a HAPPY MEAL! 

Seriously, being spoiled by the doctors and nurses and then mom and dad can exhaust a boy. 

This was not a wise choice on my behalf.

(He had a great check up.  His prescription has changed to a less strong lens.  She thinks he could possibly be out of glasses before it's all over with...but no promises.  I am liking the sound of that!  It's hard on a kid to have to keep up with their glasses and they get hurt sometimes because the glasses slam against their face when they are...well....acting like a boy.)
